Anybody reading this actually had a vacation during the summer?For myself, although I didn't have a "relaxing" summer vacation, I did do a lot of legwork in graphic design.
Last June, I was lucky enough to be hired as a graphic designer on campus at the University-Student Union Graffix department. Since then, I've been able to do hands-on graphic design work from research to computer to print, and immerse myself in a network of designers/students such as myself. Not only is it fun, but it's a great way to build up my portfolio.
One of the projects I took on was a campaign for the upcoming Fall Student Fest on campus. By campaign, it meant designing everything from posters and t-shirts, down to buttons and dog tags. I had to create a design that would tie in the theme "I love CSULA," which would be used throughout the whole design campaign. It was challenging, but that was where all the fun was.
For those of you who are CSULA students, I hope you will enjoy the Fall Student Fest this coming Tuesday on the Student Union Walkway (11am - 2pm). I know I will!

Excellent designs! I especially like the black, white, and yellow "I Love CSULA" logo. The yellow makes the heart POP, and the "I Love CSULA" reminds me of the 80s Randy Newman song "I Love L.A.".

I love the concept of Fall in Love With CSULA, and I (heart) CSULA. You guys should make tshirts and buttons, and sell them everywhere in town!
I like the simple shapes of people. It is more impressive than actual people's images. I am happy that my graphic design friends have opportunities to work in their field and strenght their portfolios and resumes.

I really liked the gray students that in my opinion give a great effect to the poster. The overall idea of flowers as they represent information is very successful.
This is amazing Jennifer. Our styles in graphic design are quite different. But, you really captured the essence of CSULA, and make the campus logo more fun and edgy. Keep up the good work! Hope your going to advertisement design event jimmy mentioned.
The designs are so cute. It's just like the "I Love New York," but better because it's CSULA. You guys defiantly should make shirts to sell for the rest of the students.
Everyne should know by now how much of a great designer you are. You have definitely made a difference to our department as well as the folks in class. But don't let it get to your head! We have the Student Union Grand Opening to work on. Its a collaboration I've actually been witing for! I can't wait to get he move over with so I can start designing at work again! Damnit!
