I do. Like, all the time.
That's why I like the manuals that have pictures. But seriously, it helps when there are figures that go along with the instructions, especially if it's presented clearly and simply. Color can play an important role in communicating information, like highlighting certain sections of a toaster or something.

The "new" (used somewhere else on campus, but new in our office) copy machine at my work place has really awesome instructions!! They're like the ones in that first manual.
It's so cool that even when it jams... the little screen shows you where it jams and which compartments to open to pull out the paper!! It's amazing *_*
